Jacqueline Gremler joins the Merrill Area Board of Education
At its special board meeting Thursday evening, the Merrill Area Public School Board voted to select a new board member, Jacqueline Gremler. The Board vacancy was created when Board member Jon Smith resigned from the Board of Education.
As per its policy, the Board solicited nominations from community members for the open seat. Two individuals filed their letter of interest and resumes: Paul Proulx and Gremler. After interviews and careful consideration, the Board elected Gremler as the new Board member on a majority vote.
“Having two strong candidates step forward, hoping to fill one Board position vacancy, says a lot about the support of our community,” said Dr. John Sample, MAPS Superintendent. “I look forward to working with Jacqueline as she becomes acclimated to her important role.”
Gremler’s limited-term will end April 2022.
The Board greatly appreciates the interest and participation of both candidates who applied.
