The Merrill Varsity Girls Volleyball Team raised funds to make a $1,518 donation to Mighty Maddy’s Mission. Mighty Maddy’s Mission is a non-profit named in honor of Maddy Odegard who lost her three-year battle with cancer on Aug. 15, 2017, at the age of nine. The organization’s mission is to create smiles for those affected by childhood cancer by providing birthday boxes for the child and their siblings who are forced to spend their birthdays admitted in the hospital, as well as to provide end of treatment party boxes. Maddy’s grandmother, Flori Jesperson, is pictured in the back row (purple shirt) accepting the check on behalf of Mighty Maddy’s Mission.
