11-08-21

At 5:51 a.m. a caller reported he was awakened by pounding within the apartment complex he resides at. He went into the hallway and discovered the door removed to a neighbor’s apartment. An officer found the tenants in that apartment had removed the door after the handle broke, trapping them inside. The landlord was contacted to repair the faulty door handle.

At 4:36 p.m. a caller reported smoke within her residence. An officer assisted Merrill Fire Dept. and it was found the smoke was coming from a potted plant on the porch. The burning/smoke was found to be coming from the roots/soil of the plant however no reason could be determined.

At 10:17 a.m. a church reported a male wandering about the building and hiding in their boiler room. The male had left the church before officers were able to locate him. At 12:34 p.m. a caller reported a male had entered her garage. An officer located the man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He initially denied being in the church until he was informed he was on their surveillance camera. He then reported he had been hiding from his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. He was found to have a warrant for his arrest through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and was arrested for that warrant. He will also be charged with trespassing for entering the garage without permission.

At 10:15 a.m. a caller reported someone had caused scratches to his vehicle sometime overnight while it was parked in the lot of an apartment complex.

At 2:09 p.m. a caller reported someone cracked the windshield of his daughter’s vehicle while it was parked at the high school. The previous night someone had thrown eggs at the vehicle while it was parked at their residence. The officer will be reviewing surveillance video from the high school.

At 9:36 p.m. a caller reported her neighbor had informed her tonight that someone had struck her garage. The neighbor had noticed the damage a few days ago. Tire tracks indicated the garage had been struck by a vehicle.

At 11:39 a.m. a caller reported receiving unwanted phone calls, emails, and physical mail from a male party from Minneapolis, Minn. Investigation is still ongoing due to inability to reach the offending party.

At 5:33 p.m. officers were called to a residence to check the welfare of a party who was not answering their door and had reported feeling sick the prior day. The officer made entry to the residence and discovered the individual in a bedroom in a semi-conscious state. Merrill EMS was called to the scene and took over patient care.

At 8:30 p.m. officers were called to check the welfare of a youth who had not been answering her phone for their parent. The youth was located at a relative’s residence and found to be fine.

At 917 p.m. officers were called by a party who had their social media account accessed by an unauthorized party who proceeded to access the account holder’s debit and credit card and made numerous unauthorized withdrawals. Investigation is ongoing.

At 7:10 a.m. a caller reported she believed someone had entered her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight, as items were moved about inside. Nothing was reported to be missing.

At 10:03 a.m. a caller reported he returned home from being hospitalized and found two of his vehicles had eggs thrown at them sometime in the past couple weeks. No damage was observed.

At 7:39 p.m. a store reported two males had been in the store an hour prior and left with a cart full of goods without paying for them. The store provided surveillance video of the two males and the vehicle they departed in. Investigation continues.

11-13-21

At 7:12 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. The driver was found to have an open bond which prohibited him from operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. His license was found to be revoked. K9 Eros conducted a drug sniff of the vehicle and indicated a positive alert. A search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested for bail jumping, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 7:50 p.m. a caller reported her ex-boyfriend was pounding on her door and he is prohibited from having contact with her. It was found the ex-boyfriend has a probation rule prohibiting contact with the caller. An officer located the male at the caller’s doorway. He reported he was returning her property and picking up a pair of work boots from her. He was arrested for a probation violation. During a search of him, methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe were located. He was additionally charged for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

At 8:27 p.m. an officer investigated a minor crash in a parking lot.

11-14-21

At 1:34 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle spinning in circles in the fresh fallen snow in a parking lot. The driver was warned for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and cited for a driver’s license restriction violation.

At 10:51 a.m. an officer investigated a crash in an apartment complex parking lot. A driver had been pulling into a parking stall and pressed the accelerator rather than the brake, causing her to drive over a curb and strike another vehicle on the other side. A crash report was completed.
