MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

11-1-2021
At 11:06 a.m. an officer responded to a theft complaint in reference to a piece of floor staining equipment. The victim stated the theft possibly occurred over a week ago while they were out of town. The investigation is ongoing.
At 4:28 p.m. an officer responded to a local gas station for a gas drive off. The suspect pumped $43.67 worth of gasoline from the gas station then drove off. The registered owner of the vehicle has been identified and contact was attempted with them but was unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing.
At 5:02 p.m. an officer responded to that same local gas station for another gas drive off. The suspect vehicle is described as a black in color Ford F-250 truck. The driver pumped $72.28 worth of fuel and drove off. The suspect is described as a middle-aged male with dark hair. The investigation is ongoing.

11-02-2021
At 2:09 p.m. an officer responded to the Merrill Police Department due to a female party being there to pick up a purse. Upon a search of the female’s name, it was found that she had a warrant through Lincoln County. The female party was arrested on the warrant and brought to the Lincoln County Jail.

11-03-2021
At 3:57 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the area of E. Main St. and Memorial Dr. in reference to a report of an individual throwing coin at cars while they drove past. The investigation is ongoing.

11-04-2021
At 9:16 p.m. a caller reported another male followed him to a store and made threats toward him. The other involved male had left the store prior to officers’ arrival. It sounded as if the incident stemmed from one male accusing the other of tailgating him while they were on the roadway.

11-05-2021
At 2:07 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Probation and Parole office to take a male party into custody for a probation violation. The male was arrested and transported to the jail.

11-06-2021
At 7:08 p.m. dispatch advised of a possible structure fire near Pine Bluff Ave.. The report was that a garage or shed was fully engulfed in flames. Officers and firefighters arrived on scene to assess the situation. Upon further investigation, the fire was an excessively large bonfire, and there was no structure that had burned to the ground. Officers did cite the property owner for the incident.
At 7:51 p.m. dispatch advised of a fight in progress at the 600 block of Johnson St. Officers responded and investigated the incident. Two female parties were arrested for disorderly conduct.
At 7:57 p.m. dispatch advised of an open door in one of the newer built homes at 2801 Thielman St. Officers and Lincoln County deputies arrived to investigate the open door. Officers and deputies were able to locate two newer built homes that showed signs of forced entry. Officers and deputies cleared and checked every newly built home to make sure there was no one residing in them.
At 8:06 p.m. dispatch advised of a fight in progress at the 300 block of Park St. Officers and deputies arrived to assess the situation. After further investigating, the incident involved multiple minor teenage boys getting into an altercation. Officers interviewed the juveniles and transported a juvenile to their residence.
At 8:38 p.m. officers and deputies responded to a neighbor complaint at the 1800 block of Logan Ave. The report was that there was yelling and a possible physical altercation. Officers investigated the incident and spoke with the parties involved. There was no fight that occurred, but rather a gathering for a fire.

11-07-2021
At 9:15 a.m. an officer responded to a residence for a property damage complaint. The reporting party stated that her mailbox was knocked off of its post sometime during the night. There are no suspects at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
At 8:48 p.m. officers were called to a business for a report of a male party in violation of one of his bond conditions. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with a male party. The male provided the officer with a false name and then left. It was determined that the male was not who he identified himself to be. Charges of bail jumping and obstructing will be forwarded to the DA’s office for review.
