Merrill’s Ruge named to spring 2021 UW-Stout Dean’s List

Mathew Ruge of Merrill was named to the spring 2021 UW-Stout Dean’s List. The college sent this late addition to the list they released earlier this summer. Ruge is studying Applied Science. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Local students awarded Foundation scholarships at UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Scholarships valued at more than $977,000 were awarded to 436 University of Wisconsin-Stout students this year through the Stout University Foundation Inc.
The students received the awards during a virtual scholarship reception, which replaced the traditional on-campus event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Established in 1963, the Stout University Foundation Scholarship Program has helped nearly 10,900 students receive a college education. Through the financial support of alumni, parents, faculty, and staff and friends of the university, the program has awarded more than $15.6 million over the years.

Scholarship recipients from our area include:
• Isaac Meyer, Irma, is studying Mechanical Engineering and received the Rath Foundation Academic Scholarship.
• Jordan Kunze, Merrill, is studying Applied Science and received the Margaret and Herman Arneson Memorial Endowed Scholarship, Mueller/Orfield Endowed Applied Science Scholarship, and Otto Nitz Endowed Scholarship.
• Elliana Lone, Merrill, is studying Early Childhood Education and received the Dr. Judith Herr Early Childhood Scholarship and Florence E. Blank Endowed Memorial Scholarship.
UW-Stout is Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, with a focus on applied learning, collaboration with business and industry, and career outcomes.
