“Merrill’s #1 Doubles team of Tessa Wheat/Amelia Skoviera lost to Eau Claire Memorial’s Kimberly Harvey/Katie Rentzepis 6-0, 6-0 today,” said Merrill High School Girls Tennis Coach, Brad Barton, on Wednesday, Oct. 6. “We drew the 1 seed and perennial powerhouse Eau Claire Memorial. They were the best team Amelia and Tessa met this year. Amelia tried to match them with her power groundstrokes and serves. Tessa tried to match them with her length and quickness at the net, but experience outlasted Merrill in the end.”
“Tessa and Amelia had a great season though, finishing with 11-8 record,” he said.
This concludes Merrill’s season.
