James M. Hartson

James M. Hartson went to go meet his lord and savior on October 1, 2021 in Merrill, Wisconsin. He was born on May 12, 1937 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Robert and Pearl (Finch) Hartson.  James worked at Lincoln Windows for over 30 years, he was long-haul semi-driver for over 15 years, and was employed as a deputy sheriff for 15 years with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.  He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, mowing his lawn, and sitting on the back patio reminiscing about the good old days with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, and working on old cars. James was a hardworking man who spent his life dedicated to God, family, and his community.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Hochstetler) Hartson in 1991 and his son James Hartson in 2000.  James is survived by his children: Angela Hartson of Merrill, WI, Steve (Renae) Hartson of San Tan Valley, AZ, grandchildren: Kurt Hartson of Merrill, WI, Cammie Schram of Merrill, WI, Brian Rowe of Merrill, WI, Jamie Hartson of Wausau, WI, Madison Hartson of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Emily Hartson of San Tan Valley, AZ, great-grandchildren: Adriana Schram of Merrill, WI, Riley Schram of Merrill, WI, and Braylee Rowe of Merrill, WI, siblings: Robert (Joan) Hartson of Merrill, WI and Evelyn (Butch) Chrusniak of Mosinee, WI, and sister-in-law, Donna (Hochstetler) Kasper of Rockford, IL.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Waid Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service also at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Waid Funeral Home. Interment at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.
