Bruce A. Plautz

Bruce A. Plautz, age 63, of Reedsburg, died on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison surrounded by his family.  He was born on October 31, 1957 in Merrill, the son of Walter and Darlene (Fellbaum) Plautz.  Bruce had worked for over thirty years at Foremost Farms and later at the Anderson Chemical Company until the time of his passing.  He had enjoyed ice fishing, camping especially at both the Hodag Country Festival and MC Festivals.  He also liked cutting wood, tinkering on just about anything, always had a kid at heart outlook, spending time on his hobby farm as well as treasuring his time spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife: Patricia; two daughters: Tracey (Mikey) Sherwood, of Reedsburg and Dana Plautz (Mark Allbaugh), of Loganville; five grandchildren: Haley, Ryan, Saige, Ross and Sylas; one great-grandson: Ethan; his mother: Darlene Osness, of Wausau; two brothers: Greg Plautz, of Wausau and Darrell Plautz, of Irma; his two faithful companions: Mitsy and Mindy; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father: Walter; his brother: Dale Plautz; his stepfather: Ray Osness and his mother-in-law: Giesela Laatsch.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Beth Voigt officiating.  There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.  The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
