Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill is sponsoring the Living River Quartet in concert at the Normal Park Gazebo on Friday, Sept. 10, at 6:00 p.m. This is the fifth year the church has sponsored a Living River concert in the area, although, there was no concert last year due to COVID.
Living River, a quartet comprised of four central Wisconsin Christian men, perform a blend of contemporary praise and worship, gospel, and acappella styles. “They remind me a lot of the Oak Ridge Boys and include several of their songs in their concert,” said Sharon Karow, who helps organize the entertainment each year. “In fact, they opened for the Oak Ridge Boys when they played in Wausau [some years ago].”
“Living River is a Christian group playing a mix of country and Christian music and a good witness to the Merrill community, especially when we see this world in turmoil,” she added. “So we hope people from the area will gather together, relax, and enjoy uplifting music.”
Prior to the concert, Trinity’s new Director of Christian Education, Devan Arnston, and Trinity’s youth group will have hot dog and hamburger meals available for purchase, starting at 5:00 p.m., and Trinity will give free goodie gift bags to the first 100 children who attend.
Bring lawn chairs or blankets, organizers say.
In case of rain, the concert and events will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 107 State St., in Merrill.
