The garden of Pam and Al Fox, 2601 W. Main Street in Merrill, has been named the Garden of the Month for August 2021, the final Garden of the Month for 2021. Each summer, the volunteers of Park City Gardens consider many beautiful properties in the city of Merrill for the Garden of the Month honor which is bestowed on three gardeners during the season, one each month for June, July, and August.
Pam and Al have a beautifully designed yard and flower gardens, said Linda Huss, one of the volunteers on the Garden of the Month selection committee.
“The lush lawn in front is embellished with beautiful flower gardens, accented in outdoor art representing days gone by,” Huss said. “As you exit your vehicle, you are welcomed by two beautiful flower gardens leading you to the beautiful back yard.”
“What you can’t see from the street,” she added, “is a beautiful back yard with a large shade tree that protects the gardens on the west side of the garage and shades a relaxing hammock hanging chair. The lush green of the corn stalks bordering the back yard highlights each of the gardens’ vibrant colors. The perfect place to enjoy a beautiful day.”
Huss shared a funny story the Fox’s shared with her when she visited with them to view their blooming beds. Many years ago when Pam wanted to start her beautiful gardens, Al had commented: “Don’t make the flowers suffer.” Apparently,he didn’t have much faith in her gardening skills.
“Well, she proved him wrong,” Huss said. “Congratulations to Pam and Al!”
Additional photos of the property can be seen on the Positively Merrill Facebook Page.

• 200 Cotter Avenue
• Glen Drive (almost to the end of the street)
