“11th Annual Christmas Card” art contest

For the past 10 years, Ted Nicholson created the art for the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce “Annual Christmas Card.”
This year, the Chamber is sponsoring an art contest to select the artwork to be used on the “11th Annual Christmas Card.”
“Christmas is such a wonderful time in Merrill, and it is your chance to show your Christmas in Merrill memory or vision,” said Cheryl Skoug, Programs Manager at the Chamber. “Merrill is lucky to have many talented artists.”
“The image of Merrill brings back many memories for people,” Skoug adds. “They mail the cards out to people around the world.” This is a wonderful way for an area artist to get exposure for their artwork in many communities.
Entries must designate a Merrill Christmas scene – past or present. Contest entry dates are August 1 to September 3, 2021. Each contestant may submit one entry using any of the following two-dimensional mediums: acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, or oil. Each entry must be 12”x 18”, mounted on tag board or foam core. Judges will select one image which captures the essence and spirit of the Christmas season in Merrill. The winner will receive a $250 Merrill Chamber gift certificate and have their artwork featured on the 11th Annual Merrill Chamber Christmas card, which will be available for sale during the 2021 Christmas season, and used in future promotions.
Submitted artwork becomes the property of the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce and may be used in various promotional displays. All submissions must be an original work of art.
For contest rules and guidelines or for an application, contact the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce at 715.536.9474 or stop by their office located at 705 N. Center Avenue. Information is also available on their website: www.merrillchamber.org. Deadline for entry is September 3, 2021.
