Jeanette I. Lee, age 94, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021, while residing at Pine Crest Nursing Home. Jeanette was born October 22, 1926, in Portage County, daughter of the late Ervin and Esther (Persike) Yonke. She married Elmer L. Lee on September 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2016. Jeanette was a homemaker. She enjoyed dancing and polka music, gardening and raising flowers, and traveling. Jeanette was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill.
Jeanette is survived by two daughters, Linda (Dale) Zastrow of Merrill, and Connie (Hugh) Lenox of Cambridge, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Dean (Lynn) Zastrow, Jason (Megan) Londerville, and Elizabeth Richter; three great-grandchildren, Jameson, Evadne, and Dresden; one brother, Roger (Shirley) Yonke of Merrill; one sister, Marilyn Burgener of Merrill; and her in-laws, Arlene Yonke and Donald Petrowski both of Merrill, and Frieda Lee of Mississippi. Besides her parents and husband, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee; parents, Ervin and Esther Yonke; an infant son, Gary Lee in 1953; sisters, Jermaine Yonke and Donna Petrowski; brother, Verlyn ‘Bud’ Yonke; and brother-in-law, William ‘Bill’ Burgener.
