Central Wisconsin Edge takes the Championship and is on to Illinois

Central Wisconsin Edge Fastpitch 18U won the State of Wisconsin PGF State Championship on July 3. Edge is based out of Merrill, but has players from Central Wisconsin including Merrill, Medford, Wisconsin Rapids, Minocqua, and Marshfield. Edge played six games between July 2-3 to win the Championship. They outscored their opponents 54 to 8 over the 6 games, including a statement win over FirePro Fastpitch Gold 6-0 in the Semi Final. They defeated Puma Baseball Academy 11-0 in the Championship. In all, the team hit .452 with 9 home runs, while their pitching staff had a .848 ERA with 47 ks.
On the way to the Championship, the team beat Delta Sports Performance, Polar Bear Fastpitich, Illiniois Impact, Shorewood Golden Aces, FirePro Fastpitich Gold, and Puma Baseball Academy.
With the Championship title, the team won a bid to the granddaddy of them all in softball: the PGF National Championships in Huntington Beach California.
The team will be heading to Illinois for the Stars and Stripes Showcase next, followed by Music City World Series in Nashville, Tennessee.
