MERRILL POLICE REPORTS

06-29-2021

At 2:30 p.m. an officer responded to the Probation and Parole Office to take a male party into custody on a warrant through the Department of Corrections. The party was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail without incident.

At 8:11 p.m. officers responded to a report of a physical domestic between a male and female party.  Officers arrived and it was determined that there was an argument between the two parties that had turned physical. The altercation led to the male holding the female to the ground, preventing her from calling 911, and closing a door on the female’s hand causing injury. The male was arrested on charges of domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery, and false imprisonment.

At 6:35 a.m. an officer took a report of vehicle that was stolen overnight. A suspect was identified and later arrested for the stolen vehicle.

At 5:00 p.m. an officer responded to a disorderly conduct incident in the 200 block of Prospect St.  An argument had started due to a father making hot dogs for dinner and not tacos. The officer mediated the argument.

At 6:05 p.m. and officer responded to a local department store for a report of a hit and run. Video footage was obtained showing the incident, and footage of the suspect was also obtained. The officer will be attempting to identify the suspect.

07-01-21

At 7:05 p.m. officers made contact with a male in the 200 block of Pine Ridge Ave. While officers were in contact with the male, they became aware the male had a warrant for his arrest through Probation and Parole. The male was taken into custody for the warrant.

07-02-2021

At 11:39 a.m. an officer responded to an area business for an illegal garbage dumping complaint. A vehicle has been identified but contact with the owner has been unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing.

At 4:49 p.m. officers were dispatched a local golf course for a report of an intoxicated male party refusing to leave. The male party agreed to leave after officers arrived, and the male was given a ride home.

07-03-2021

At 1:17 p.m. an officer responded to a residence for a report of a theft. It was determined that the property being reported stolen was a firearm. There were multiple suspects named by parties at the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

At 5:02 p.m. officers responded to a report of a theft of car keys. Throughout the investigation it was determined that the male suspect had taken the keys from a female party. It was determined that the male party was not allowed to have contact with the female per his probation rules. The male was arrested for a probation violation and taken to jail.

07-04-2021

At 1:27 a.m. officers located a female party walking along the railroad tracks near the Street Department. The officers made contact with the female and attempted to identify her. The female party gave  the officers a false name, but officers were familiar with the female from previous contacts. The female was found to have warrants through Lincoln County, as well as Probation and Parole. The female was arrested on the warrants and taken to jail.

At 9:37 a.m. officers responded to a report of a burglary at a residence. The reporting parties stated that their garage had been broken into while they were away for the weekend. It was reported that multiple items were stolen from the garage. The investigation is ongoing.

At 9:58 p.m. officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint involving two male parties in a verbal argument near an intersection within the city.  One male party was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
