City Band Returns to the Gazebo on July 7

After a long year away, the Merrill City Band is set to start a new season on Wednesday, July 7. The opening concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Normal Park Gazebo.
Members of the Band are anxious to get together again and provide an evening of their favorites. Director Linda Becker notes, “Our last concert was August 1 in 2019, so we’re very excited to be back! The band sits elbow to elbow in the gazebo and can’t spread out. The delayed opening has allowed most members to be vaccinated, making it safer for all of us.”
Music on the program will include well-known favorites, including “Highlights from ‘The Music Man,’” “Hogan’s Heroes,” “The Liechtensteiner Polka,” “Oklahoma!” “American Riversongs,” “Rock Around the Clock,” “On, Wisconsin!” and more.
Concerts will be presented every Wednesday night through August 11 at the gazebo. If the band gets rained out on August 11, they hope to come back for an encore on the 18th. The ever-popular 50/50 raffle will be in full swing, and HAVEN will be providing a variety of concessions, so bring a few bucks to partake.
Grab a lawn chair or blanket and come out for an evening of good old-fashioned concert band music in the park.
