Infinite (Now streaming on Netflix)
Rated PG-13 – For language, violence, and adult themes.
Imagine reincarnation is real, imagine that there are some out there that can remember not only their past lives, but the skills they learned in other lives, and there you have the premise of Infinite.
Mark Wahlberg (from about a million different movies and shows) stars as Evan McCauley, a man that has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia (thank you spellcheck, you are my hero) who, while under arrest, is interrogated by Chiwetel Ejiofor (Firefly: Serenity), who tells Eric that he may not be as crazy as he believes.
From there it’s off to the races. What sets Infinite apart from many other action films, is a solid story they actually bother to develop and some, and I do not use this term loosely, stunning action set pieces.
Multiple times my wife and I looked at one another and said, “Well, that’s new!” Far too often, action films get a little repetitious: fight, fight, fight, clever dialogue, fight, fight, fight, hurray hero wins at the last second, oh, I am so shocked.
Infinite does some interesting stuff with the action set pieces, enough so that I took notice.
Infinite rounds out its lead cast with Sophie Cookson (Kingsman) as Eric’s mentor and Jason Mantzoukas (The Good Place), who steals the spotlight in every scene he is in.
Rated three out of five stars, largely due to those stunning and interesting, dare I say original, action scenes.
Now streaming on Netflix, Infinite, is a fun way to kill two hours and worth the watch, so grab some popcorn and enjoy.
