Rose Jane Polasek-Kleinschmidt, age 91, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Woodland Court Elder Services in Merrill, while surrounded by her loving daughters and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born on November 5, 1929, to the late August and Mary (Martz) Kottman in Merrill, WI. Rose married Clarence Polasek in 1946, and sadly he passed away in December of 1970. She then married Gilbert Kleinschmidt, who also preceded her in death. In her younger years, Rose worked for the House of Merrill, where she was a supervisor for the siding department. She then went on to work at a variety of grocery stores in the deli and bakery departments, with her last job being at Drew’s Piggly Wiggly. Rose was a woman of strong faith and looked forward to attending church. She loved spending quality time with her sisters, where they would visit and work on sewing projects together. Family was very important to Rose, and she cherished her time with them. She will be sadly missed by those left behind, but she is rejoicing in Heaven with her family!
Rose is survived by her two daughters: Linda Paulsen and Janice (James) Schneider, both of Merrill, and many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Clarence Polasek and Gilbert Kleinschmidt, daughter: Marion Streeter, son: Clarence ‘Shorty’ Polasek, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
The funeral service for Rose will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 11am at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Matthew Bless will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 4pm-7pm at Waid Funeral Home, and again on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 10am until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service and take place in the Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. The service will be recorded and available for viewing under her obituary on the funeral home website. The family of Rose wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you and a deep appreciation to the wonderful staff at Woodland Court for their many years of care they provided to their mom.
