Jeanette Marie Jensen

Jeanette Marie Jensen, 86, of Irma, Wisconsin, passed away on May 26, 2021 at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill, Wisconsin.  On July 8, 1934, Jeanette was born to Elmer R. Nicklaus and Jesse M. Cottrell Nicklaus at the Kelly House, in Merrill, Wisconsin, delivered by her grandmother, Helena Nicklaus.  In December of 1952, Jeanette met her future husband, Wilhelm “Bill” Jensen, of 65 years, while Bill was picking up his mother and grandmother from Vic Karau’s Beauty Parlor. They were married on April 7, 1956 at the old St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill, Wisconsin.  Jeanette attended Tug Lake School, a one room schoolhouse, for eight years. After graduating from Merrill High School in 1952, Jeanette completed beauty school in Wausau, Wisconsin. Being a beautician, Jeanette used her skills and knowledge to own and operate Jeanette’s Wig Outlet and was also an Avon Lady.  However, she worked side by side with her sister-in-law, supporting her husband and brother in the daily operations of Nicklaus Enterprise and Jen-Nick Farms. She was also artistic in many ways and enjoyed arranging dried flowers.

Jeanette leaves behind her husband, Bill Jensen; sons, Nick (Lisa) Jensen of Oshkosh , WI  and Mark (Cathy) Jensen; grandchildren, Alexandra Jensen of Los Angeles, CA and Christian (Dr. Haley Schoenberger) Jensen of Dallas, TX; brother, Ronald (Kay) Nicklaus of Merrill, WI, and nephews, Todd (Camille) Nicklaus of Rothschild, WI, and Gregory (Darcey) Nicklaus of Arbor Vitae, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jeanette was a sharp, bright, caring women, who never spoke a bad word in her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  A funeral service for Jeanette will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill. Father Kanna to officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 9:00 am until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Town of Rock Falls.  In honor of Jeanette, please consider a donation to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill, Wisconsin.  Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
