On Apr. 19, 2021, at approximately 3:48 p.m. the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a person pinned underneath a tractor in the Township of Merrill. Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Paramedics from the Merrill Fire Department were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency personnel found 46-year-old
Jered Severt pinned underneath a tractor. He was extricated and lifesaving measures were performed but ultimately proved unsuccessful. He died at the scene. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident. Responding agencies included the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Merrill Fire Department, and Lincoln County Coroner’s Office. The Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Air Medical Transport helicopter was also requested but later cancelled. Severt was a Town of Merrill resident. The accident occurred on private property.
