Sports don’t have to be organized or sanctioned to be a great idea. And Merrill has so many parks and recreational opportunities, it would be a shame not to take advantage of them. On a beautiful day, the basketball court at the edge of the Prairie River in Stange’s Park gets a lot of use. Whether it’s hanging out shooting hoops, a game of HORSE or one-on-one, or an impromptu basketball game, everyone is welcome, and they’re happy for you to join in. Here, after some initial warm up shots, introductions were made, nicknames assigned, and teams decided before starting a game of three on three.
