03-29-21
At 7:24 a.m., a caller reported a male breaking into his residence. Upon arrival, the male in question was quickly attempting to leave. It was found that a female that resides at the residence had broken up with her boyfriend. The boyfriend came to the residence and broke a door with a rock, as well as a windshield of a vehicle belonging to another male resident of the residence. The man was arrested for criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and probation violation.
At 10:56 a.m., a female came to the police department after finding several small dents to her vehicle. She did not know when this occurred. The marks were consistent with hail damage.
At 3:47 p.m., a female was arrested for a warrant after an officer observed her sitting in her vehicle and knew her to have a warrant for her arrest through Lincoln County.
At 5:14 p.m., an officer located a vehicle that Langlade County Sheriff’s Office requested be stopped if located. Langlade County Sheriff’s Office requested a male be arrested for charges in their County for felon in possession of a firearm. The man was arrested for that charge, and an officer transported him to the Lincoln/Langlade county line where he was turned over to their agency.

At 6:21 p.m., Merrill officers assisted Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the city.
At 9:09 p.m., an inmate at the Lincoln County Jail requested an officer check his residence after he had received information someone had broken into it. Officers checked his residence and found it secure. A screen door had simply been blown open by wind. The information was relayed to him.

At 10:46 a.m., officers responded to a property damage complaint in reference to an apartment that had damage to its door. It was also reported the garage had been broken in to. Nothing was said to have been stolen at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
At 9:07 p.m., officers responded to an attempted burglary at a residence. It was reported a lock had been broken to enter the residence. It was determined, after examining the lock, that the owner had not locked the lock correctly and the residence was not entered.
04-01-2021
At 12:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to assist Probation and Parole with taking a male party in to custody for a probation violation. The male party had left the Probation Office in his vehicle. The vehicle and male party were located and a traffic stop was conducted. The male party was taken into custody for the probation violation.
At 7:02 p.m., an officer responded to a driving complaint where it was reported that a male party was doing burnouts with his vehicle on a city street. The male and vehicle were located and the male admitted to doing the burnout. The male was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle.

At 9:22 p.m., a caller reported someone had struck his vehicle while at a gas station and left the scene. An officer checked the damage and found it more consistent with someone possibly hitting the vehicle with a door or cart. Surveillance footage was observed but due to the angle it was unable to capture this particular incident.

At 12:55 p.m., an officer assisted the hospital with a patient who became unruly.
At 6:41 p.m., a caller found a debit card at a gas station and turned it over to an officer. The owner of the card was contacted and will be picking up the card.
At 7:42 p.m., a caller reported finding a gem bag containing an unknown substance at a playground. An officer collected the gem bag which contained a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
At 8:03 p.m., an ambulance was dispatched to a residence after a caller reported a male had been struck by a baseball bat. Officers investigated and determined that a male had gone to the residence to confront another male about allegations of a stolen cell phone. This led to the man striking the other causing injury. The man was arrested for battery. The investigation into the stolen cell phone is ongoing.
04-04-21
At 9:44 a.m., a caller reported a domestic dispute that had taken place two days prior. The female showed officers bruising to her rib area caused from a male grabbing her in a bear hug. The male left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. He spoke to an officer on the phone but refused to meet with an officer. Charges are forthcoming.
At 10:48 a.m., a caller reported finding a syringe at a park. An officer properly disposed of it.
At 7:36 p.m., a caller reported observing a door ajar on a neighbor’s residence and it appeared nobody was home. Officers responded and confirmed nobody was home. They secured the door and a message was left with the owner letting them know of the occurrence.
