In a press release issued Mar. 30 by independent counsel, Dean R. Dietrich, of the Dietrich Vanderwaal Law Group in Wausau, the City of Merrill Personnel and Finance Committee issued the following statement: “The Personnel and Finance Committee met last week and requested special legal counsel to engage in a review of the City actions regarding the preservation of the T. B. Scott Mansion. The Committee asked special legal counsel to work with a former human resource professional to review the actions taken by City Officials and City Elected Officials to address the possible destruction of the Scott Mansion. A report will be provided to the Committee for review in the near future.”
