MHS Freshman Dylan Smith has been named Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 11, 2021. Dylan is a first-year member of the Merrill Bluejays Varsity Bowling Team and has been bowling since he was four years old. The Varsity Bowling Team went 10-2 this year and took 2nd overall in District 9, sending them to the State competition March 5-7 in Green Bay. Dylan also competed in the Singles Division for Boys at State on March 5.
In his spare time, Dylan enjoys fishing, deer and grouse hunting, snowmobiling, and playing pool or darts with friends or just hanging out.
Dylan is the son of Scott and Billie Jo Smith of the Town of Rock Falls. Dylan maintains a 3.75 GPA. He hopes to bowl well enough to earn a bowling scholarship to college, after graduating from high school, where he plans to study in the medical field. He plans to become a chiropractor.
