Piper Plautz, Merrill High School (MHS) Senior, has been named Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 18, 2021. Piper has been bowling since the age of four, and is finishing up her final year on the Merrill Varsity Bowling Team. She ended her High School bowling career on a high note when the Bluejay Bowlers went to state a couple of weeks ago and came home in third place. She also represented Merrill at the All Stars competition in Milwaukee recently, and Piper has been setting records at the local bowling alley in Merrill starting when she was 16 years old.
When she’s not bowling, Piper enjoys dance. She has been dancing since the age of three and does nine different dances including tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop.
Piper is employed part-time at Culvers and in her free time likes to hang out with friends and family and to watch The Bachelor on television.
Piper is the daughter of Heather Plautz and Beaver Plautz of Merrill. She has a 3.9 GPA and is planning to attend Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Ind. She is planning to study elementary education and to continue her bowling career.
