Zastrow named Athlete of the Week

Nikolas Zastrow, Merrill High School (MHS) Senior, has been named Athlete of the Week. Nik has been wrestling on the Merrill Bluejays Wrestling Team for two years, and this year he was named Most Improved Upperclassman and received the Ogre Award, given to a wrestler who gets the most out of his ability, according to Coach Brian Suchocki. In addition to wrestling, Nik played football for the Merrill Bluejays all four years in high school, as a running back and defensive back. He also ran track for the Bluejays all four years, as both a sprinter and a long jumper. In addition to being active in sports, Nik is a member of the Raise Your Voice Club and Link Crew at the High School. He enjoys being outdoors, hiking, fishing, and hunting.
Nik maintains a 3.97 GPA and is the son of Todd Zastrow and Chyannye Krosschell, both of Merrill. Following graduation this spring, he plans to study forestry at UW Stevens Point where he will also run track.
