Merrill High School (MHS) Sophomore Prayla Pyan is in her first year playing for the Merrill Varsity Girls Basketball team as post, and she’s been getting some attention. Her coach noted her improvements recently when she was the second highest scorer at the Feb. 3 game against Wausau East, helping clinch the win for the Lady Jays with a score of 56 to 43. Prayla played Junior Varsity volleyball last year and is considering playing Varsity softball this spring, as well. When she is not in school, she enjoys four-wheeling, snowmobiling, fishing, drawing, and going to the movies or just hanging out with friends. She also enjoys playing with her three dogs (two huskies and one mix breed) and family game nights and pool parties.
Prayla is the daughter of Bob and Tammy Pyan of Merrill. She has a 3.0 GPA and is considering a career in the medical field but is not yet certain.
