Merrill Police Department declares Snow Emergency

The Merrill Police Department (MPD) has declared a Snow Emergency is in effect due to anticipated snowfall and accumulations. A press release from the MPD reads:

“A snow emergency will be in effect during the following times:

Beginning: Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 12:00PM NOON

Ending: Friday February 5, 2021 at 12:00PM NOON

Vehicles are not to be parked on streets during this time period. Vehicles which are parked on city streets are subject to being ticketed and/or towed at the vehicle owner’s expense. The forfeiture for parking on the street during a snow emergency is $20. It is very important for vehicles to be off the streets so snow plowing operations can take place.

Current forecasts indicate accumulations could be considerable throughout the day. This will require plows to be active throughout the weather event as well as a full overnight clean up. Let’s help the plow crews to do their job as efficiently as we can. “
