On Thursday, Jan. 14, Mayor Derek Woellner declared Merrill City facilities will remain closed for another two weeks, until Feb. 1. His declaration cited continued COVID risk, stating: “Due to the Wisconsin Department of Health Service’s COVID-19 Disease Activity dashboard listing Lincoln County’s activity level as ‘Very High’ and the trajectory as ‘No Significant Change,’ I am declaring the extension of closure for city facilities for two weeks, until February 1st, 2021.
Based on previous extensions, it is anticipated the Mayor will re-evaluate the risk level again near the end of Jan. and prior to Feb. 1.
