Terrie Joyce Kidder

Terrie Joyce Kidder, 70, of Green Bay, WI passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home, on Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was born on September 26, 1950 to the late John and Catherine (Madson) Lagerbloom in Merrill, WI.  Terrie was a graduate of Merrill High School. After graduation, she went on to attend the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where she received her bachelor’s degree in education and minored in music. In August 1972, she married Perry Kidder at St. Francis Xavier Church in Merrill, WI. Although they divorced in 1982, they maintained a close friendship and mutual respect.  Terrie dedicated 40 years to teaching middle school science and religion at St. Matthew Catholic School (Father Allouez Catholic School) in Allouez, WI, as well as coaching volleyball and directing plays for many years. For Terrie, being an educator was not just her job, it was her calling. She was dedicated to supporting her students emotionally and spiritually, in addition to academically. She went above and beyond to connect with each and every student that came into her classroom and had a gift for nurturing students’ unique strengths, as well as providing encouragement and building confidence when they struggled. She loved connecting with former students later in their lives so she could hear all about their accomplishments.  Terrie will be remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend who possessed infectious joy and positivity which emanated from her twinkling blue eyes and beautiful, dimpled smile.  She loved spending as much time as possible with her family. Terrie took great joy in taking trips to Florida with her grandchildren. Whenever possible, she was in the bleachers at sporting events or part of the audience at various performances, or just spending time with them playing games, snuggling, laughing, baking, and just being together. Terrie was a woman of deep faith, which she instilled in her daughters. She loved the St. Matthew Parish community where she actively participated in Mass by playing piano and singing when her children were young, planning school Masses, and serving as a Eucharistic minister. Terrie’s faith, love, and remarkable accomplishments will live on through her family, friends, and former students.

Terrie is survived by her two daughters: Callie (Geoffrey) Kidder Lacy and Lindsay (Ryan) McGuan; five grandchildren: Wyatt Lacy, Shannon Lacy, Regan McGuan, Molly McGuan, and Emma McGuan; and her close friend Linda Kadingo. Terrie is preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank St. Mary and St. Vincent Hospital staff, as well as Unity Hospice staff for the care and compassion given to Terrie and her family. A special thank you to all the friends, colleagues, former students and parents, and loved ones for sending beautiful notes and cards that were read to Terrie during her final weeks.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Parish, 130 St. Matthew Street, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM. Due to the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the capacity of the church has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Guests will be required to wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines.
