Heckendorf named PRMS October Youth Optimist of the Month
PRMS student Kaitlyn Heckendorf has been named Youth Optimist of the Month, for the month of October. Daughter of Richard and Carrie Heckendorf of Merrill, Kaitlyn was nominated by teachers Mrs. Schenck and Ms. Bloechl; “Katie deserves this nomination for the Youth Optimist of the Quarter, because she demonstrates all the best qualities of a student in our 8th grade classrooms. Kate is a self-directed learner who asks for help, and accepts feedback when she receives it. Katie is helpful, kind and patient when working in groups or partnerships. She always has a happy and positive disposition. We are proud of Katie and know she will go far in life. In addition to playing volleyball, Kaitlyn has a been named Student of the Quarter as a 7th grader and has been named to the honor roll every quarter. Her volunteer activities include working the concession stand for the Merrill Youth Softball Association and being a member of the youth group at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. In her freetime, Kaitlyn enjoys four-wheeling and spending time with her pets.
