Randall G. ‘Randy’ Burrows

Randall G. ‘Randy’ Burrows, 66, of Merrill, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 under hospice care at North Haven Assisted Living in Stevens Point.  Randy was born March 31, 1954 in Merrill, son of Stuart and Mildred (Schleif) Burrows.  Randy married Roxanne Rajek on May 31, 1980 in Merrill.  She survives.  Randy enlisted in the United States Army on November 14, 1972.  He was honorably discharged on November 13, 1974 and moved on to serve with the National Guard.  Randy worked for 23 years at Packaging Corp of America (PCA) in Tomahawk.  He had also worked at the former Ward Paper Company, Merrill.  Randy loved spending time with his family.  He was so proud to be ‘Papa’ to his granddaughters, Elsie and Maggie.  He had purchased a Camaro to work on with his son, Josh, but they never were able to start the project.  Randy enjoyed riding his motorcycle; a hobby that took him all over the United States with his wife, daughter and siblings.  Randy loved trying new things and setting out on new adventures.  He loved talking to people and making them smile and laugh.  Randy enjoyed helping others and would give the shirt off his back.  He also enjoyed watching football, especially the Packer and Badger games.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Roxie Burrows of Merrill; parents, Stuart ‘Sam’ and Mildred ‘Millie’ Burrows of Merrill; daughter, Heidi (Chris) Robinson of Wausau; son, Josh (Jody) Burrows of Merrill; granddaughters, Elsie and Maggie Burrows of Merrill; sisters, Mary (Tom) Maluegge of Merrill, Cindy (Bruce) Pankow of Merrill, Jolene (Joe) Nowak of Mosinee, Amy (Don) Gehrke of Merrill; brothers, Keith (Cathy) Burrows of Merrill, Tim (Judy) Burrows of Weston, and Jay (Rhonda) Burrows of Merrill; mother-in-law, Ruth Jean Rajek of Merrill; and sister-in-law, Sheryl (Randy) Niewolny of Merrill.  Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Greg (Marvis) Burrows; nephew, Matt Burrows; and father-in-law, Lyle Rajek.

A private memorial service for the family will be held.  A public memorial service will be held at a later date.  Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com
