MHS junior Elizabeth Schmidt has proven to be a key pillar for the 2020 Bluejay Girls Cross Country squad; leading the pack with a top-place finish in every meet this season thus far, most recently versus Wausau-East on Thursday, Oct. 8.
In addition to competing on the cross country team, Schmidt enjoys cross country skiing in the winter and competing on the varsity girls track team in the spring, in the 800 meter and mile runs.
Aside from sports, Elizabeth enjoys being involved in several school-related activities such as Link Crew, and spending time with family and friends.
Daughter of Jennifer and Chad Schmidt of Merrill, Elizabeth currently maintains a 4.0 GPA.
Following graduation next spring, Schmidt intends to attend a 4-year university and continue competitive running. Although unsure of a major at this time, she is considering something in the science or possibly business finance.
