While the Wausau-East Lumberjacks may have bested the Bluejay varsity cross country squad at the MARC last week on the score sheet (Boys: 21-47/Girls: 22-42), the Jays certainly didn’t go down without leaving their mark.
“For the girl’s team: Elizabeth Schmidt took first overall with a time of 19:37. Coming in behind Liz for Merrill was Olivia Stevenson (23:15), Madison Crossman (24:53), Olivia Pierce (26:05), and Brooklyn Kragenbrink (27:23),” comments head coach Alyssa Swan.
“The boys also ran a good race even though we were missing some key runners on varsity. Our top athlete was Callen Hoeppner who got fourth overall and ran with a time of (19:55). Behind Cal for our varsity boys were Levi Black (19:59), Elliott Hanson (20:07), Ian Schuetze (21:47), and Caleb Norton (22:10).”
