MAPS FAB Lab Director: Thank you!

by Josh Zalewski
MAPS FAB Lab Director

I would like to take a moment to thank our local businesses and community members for the gracious support we have received to date.
Last year we were hitting the ground running with our plans to open to the public, when the rug was pulled out from beneath our feet with being shut down from the COVID epidemic. The FAB Lab wasn’t the only program that was working to change the way we provide students relevant skills necessary to be successful and emulate the world of work. Our construction program was on point for building a house in partnership with Habitat for Humanity off-campus and on the final build site.

We are currently working to provide services to our business partners and fulfill orders placed prior to the shut down along with our Bluejay Design and Manufacturing student run business. For more information please visit our website, and like us on Facebook; MAPSFabLab.
Rest assured, we will continue to strive to reach our goal of training corporate business partners along with community groups and community members in our FAB Lab. We continue to strive to make yearly updates and will be unveiling new state of the art equipment to increase the capabilities of the lab very soon.
In closing I would like to thank the VFW group for helping pilot community nights last year in the lab. It was an amazing opportunity for us to give back to those who served our country. I would like to thank our school board and administration for being so very supportive of achieving the community’s goals through the referendum; having a fully functioning state of the art FAB Lab.
