The following donations were approved by the MAPS Board of Education at its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept.23:
• Funds from the Merrill Wrestling Booster Club valued at $10,900.00 for materials and labor to install a judo floor in the wrestling room at the Merrill High School.
• $4,204.00 from the Friends of the School Forest for a handicap accessible pier and 12 Leopold benches at the Nels P. Evjue School Forest.
• $125,000.00 from the Bierman Family Foundation for a scoreboard at the high school.
• Donation of funds from an anonymous donor valued at $500.00 for use for students at Washington Elementary School;
• A 3D printer and filament from Josh Oxborrow valued at $200.00 for the Merrill School District Technology Club;
• The framing of three artworks at Kate Goodrich Elementary School from John and Kim Sample valued at $394.00 for making the artwork a permanent collection;
• A Kohl’s gift card from Maureen Nichols valued at $250.00 for winter clothes for students at Kate Goodrich Elementary School;
• Fresh produce and snacks from an anonymous donor valued at $300.00 for providing healthy classroom snacks at Jefferson Elementary School; and,
• Funds from an anonymous donor valued at $2,000.00 for meeting school-identified needs at Jefferson Elementary School.
