Eddie (Harvey) Myers

Eddie Myers, born Harvey Edwin Myers Jr, could not stand his birth name.  Eddie was born July 14, 1973 in Merrill, WI to Kay (Iwen) Myers and Harvey Edwin Myers Sr. He attended Merrill High School, spent his younger years working at Northern Wire and Lincoln Windows doing factory work to support his family. In that time, Eddie’s love for fireworks brought him to also join the WPAG, a local fireworks club. He obtained his certification through the club. Shortly thereafter, he went on to become a licensed pyrotechnician and certified shooter with A.R.F. Pyro and Professional Displays LLC.  Eddie had a love for life like no other. He wanted everything bigger, better, faster and louder, no matter what it was. From the moment he got a bicycle, he wanted a motorized go-kart. With his first snowmobile, he wanted an ATV,  then onto cars and trucks. From there his love for boating and motorcycling came soon after. He spent many hours on the Wisconsin River with family and friends over the years. Rock Island Resort was a home away from home. He loved boating, tubing, water skiing and loud music everywhere he went. He attended Rock USA every year religiously. His love for excitement & adventure was nonstop. Eddie was a people person and a kid magnet. Everywhere he went he either knew someone or made new friends. When his children became adults, Eddie lived his life as he wanted. He worked for Windy Hill Masonry, Gleason, WI and most recently, Shamrock Lawncare & Landscaping, Merrill, WI.

Eddie is survived by his son Trevor (Miranda) Myers, LaCrosse, WI and daughter Shailee Myers, Tigerton, WI. Eddie is also survived by his mother, Kay Myers, sister Amy (Beau), nieces Taliya & Kasia, great nieces Noel & Amelia, all of Merrill.  Sister Errika (Brandon), Philadelphia, PA,  Brittany, Charleston, SC and brother, James, Charlotte, NC.  Eddie is further survived locally by aunts Gwen Carlson, Patricia Smith, Gail Luedtke, Judy Noonan, Harriet Pfuhl, Uncle Harvey (Donna) Iwen and many cousins. Eddie had another entire world of family mostly in the Philadelphia PA area, much too large to list.  Eddie was preceded in death by grandparents Harvey & Isabell Iwen and James & Naomi Myers, Uncles Robert Smith, Michael Carlson, Chester Luedtke, Thomas Noonan and Floran Pfuhl. Also preceded by extended family Earl Wegner, Otto & Edna Wegner.

Eddie was someone special. He was always ready to help a friend in any way he could lend a hand. He was also ready to help a stranger, whether it be helping the elderly or a damsel in distress. He was a joker, a prankster, a flirt, a hero, a friend to all.  A celebration of Eddie’s amazing life will be held at Rock Island Resort, October 10, 2020.
