Osness joins MAPS Board of Education

At its special board meeting Wednesday evening, the Merrill Area Public Schools Board of Education elected new board member, Kendra Osness. The board vacancy was created when board member Paul Proulx resigned from the Board of Education, in early August.
As per its policy, the Board solicited nominations from community members for the open seat. Five individuals filed their letter of interest and resumes: Dallas Seiwert, Nancy Kwiesielewicz, Andrew Caylor, Gerald Beyer and Osness. After interviews and careful consideration, the Board elected Osness as the new board member on a majority vote.
“Five candidates hoping to fill one Board position vacancy says a lot about the support of our community,” said Dr. John Sample, MAPS Superintendent. “I look forward to working with Kendra as she becomes acclimated to her important role.”
Osness’s limited-term will end April 2021.
The Board appreciates the interest and participation of all five candidates who applied.
