For the last four months, Northern Wire LLC-a Division of Elgin Fastener Group- has been teaming up with local restaurants to provide free employee lunches.
“Our Corporate Headquarters decided to provide free lunch as a form of thank you to our employees for continuing to work hard during the pandemic,” explains Northern Wire Commodity Buyer Blair Hubbard.
“Which in turn translates to continued company success.”
Every Wednesday, beginning April 1, company staff selected a different local restaurant to cater lunch to its 80 employees. The list of participating restaurants included B’s 107, The Dug Out, Jeb’s Bar & Grill, The Pizza Shop, Ballyhoo’s, Ed & Sharon’s, Los Mezcales, Les & Jim’s and Salvo’s Pizza.
“In addition to recognizing and expressing our appreciation for our employees, this activity also enabled us to reach out and support our local restaurant community,” Hubbard stated. “Our local restaurants have been impacted by the pandemic so it was rewarding for us to be able to do our part to help.”
Although the lunch partnership ended in mid-August, Hubbard stated the company will continue to provide various services and incentives for employees through the duration of the pandemic.
“Expressing appreciation for our employees is a priority for Elgin Fastener Group,” Hubbard adds.
