Cosmo Theatre to re-open Friday

The Cosmo Theatre, located at 813 East Main Street, will re-open as of Friday, Aug. 28.
“After 21 weeks of darkness, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The Cosmo Theatre, Inc. will open its doors on Friday, August 28th,” theatre owners Shelby and Trevor Dzwonkowski stated in a press release, issued Monday evening.
“We have made the choice to keep the theatre closed more than eleven weeks after the governor’s orders were overturned as a precaution for our community’s well-being. Every dark time needs a light and we feel it is time to fire up our projectors. The Cosmo staff is anxious to get back to doing what we do best. Afterall, there’s no business like show business!”
“The opening will not be without changes; the Cosmo staff will be wearing masks and customers will be encouraged to wear masks when not eating or drinking. Theatre doors will open early to avoid congestion in our lobby and restrooms. Sneeze guards have been installed at order stations and hand sanitizer is available. Each theatre will be sanitized at the end of every showtime, including headrests, arm rests and handrails. Bathrooms, countertops and common areas will be sanitized throughout the showtimes. And, most importantly, we will only fill each auditorium to 60% maximum capacity.
“Currently, movie studios continue to push new release dates or distribute films only via streaming services. The Cosmo plans to bring a variety of new and old films to the silver screen in hopes of entertaining audiences of all ages. Please, remember choices and terms are limited to what Hollywood is willing to offer. We will do our best to make fun, unique and entertaining choices for everyone!’
