A deputy cited a 16-year old Merrill youth on Friday, for speeding. The deputy was monitoring traffic on US 51 outside of Merrill when he observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted limit. A check of the radar showed the youth was driving 106 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. He was cited for 41 over.

On Saturday evening a deputy monitoring traffic on US 51 at US 8 stopped and cited a 16-year old Illinois youth for traveling at 92 MPH in the 65 MPH zone. A short time later a 43-year old Merrill woman was cited near the same location for traveling at 90 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. In all cases a conviction at the cited speed would result in an automatic license suspension.
