One reported dead in Town of Corning ATV crash

A Medford man is dead as a result of an ATV crash in the Town of Corning, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release issued by the department Saturday morning, August 1; On Friday, July 31, at 9:25 a.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a report of an ATV crash in the Town of Corning.

Deputies, along with wardens from the DNR, Merrill Fire Department Ambulance and Corning Fire and First Responders responded to the property located on County Rd M west of Tower Rd. There they found a 68-year old Meford man who was fatally injured in the incident.

Deputies and wardens believe the man was riding his four wheeler on his property the day before, when he struck a cable stretched across the driveway.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Paul C. Proulx.

The Wisconsin DNR is investigating the matter. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
