Stevie L. Seaver

Stevie L. Seaver, 30, of Virginia, Minnesota, tragically lost his life on the evening of July 8, 2020. He was discovered on July 9, 2020.  Stevie was born September 18, 1989 and grew up in Kingsford, Michigan. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 2009. In his teen years, he liked to play guitar and fish from his canoe. He attended college at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, Michigan, and later transferred to Bay de Noc Community College in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He received a degree in corrections, but he had dreams of returning to college for a degree in engineering.

Stevie moved to Merrill, Wisconsin, in 2015, where he had purchased a home with his girlfriend, Jenna Weis. Together they remodeled the home and built a life together. Stevie always tried to include his son, Joseph, in the remodeling projects. He did not care that it took a little longer; he was happy to teach Joseph his knowledge of construction. Stevie frequently took Joseph to movies at the Cosmo theater. He enjoyed the theater so much that he frequently returned to see movies a second or third time. He volunteered at the Lincoln County Humane Society with the cats. Stevie often noticed cats that he felt would be overlooked, so he paid the adoption fees. He will always be remembered for his love of animals, especially his pets, Emma, Max, and Idgie.

Stevie was always up for an adventure. After watching a documentary about Oklahoma, the family decided to move there. During the year he lived there, Stevie enjoyed his job as a supervisor at a munitions plant and was well liked by his coworkers. He loved fishing and was teaching himself how to fish with a cast net. Stevie enjoyed the variety of wildlife and the laid-back lifestyle he found in Oklahoma. Road trips were one of his favorite activities, including a recent trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. On the way, he had the chance to explore many abandoned buildings along the highway in north Texas. He thought the mesas and mountains were breathtaking.

Shortly before his death, Stevie relocated to Minnesota with his family. The last week of his life was filled with positive memories. He went kayaking, hiking, geocaching, and snorkeling. He built LEGO sets and played video games with Joseph. He enjoyed laughing, telling stories, and singing in the car.

Stevie touched many lives. He knew how it felt to be treated in an unkind way, so he tried to show kindness to those around him. He disliked bullies and stood up for people who were ostracized for being different. There was a sign in his home that read “Kindness is a Lifestyle.” The world lost a good person, father, and brother. He will be greatly missed by many.
