Hillside Fellowship of the Assemblies of God, located at 1501 North Pier Street, is currently offering free garden plots for interested community members. According to Pastor Allen Worlin, the 15×20 plots are available on a first-come first-served basis, with only four total plots available for use.
“We are offering these plots to anyone in the community that is interested,” said Worlin. “Each plot is 15×20 feet, which isn’t a whole lot of area, but plenty of room for some vegetables.”
Worlin also mentioned that whoever does end up using the plots will have the responsibility of maintaining their plants.
“All that is required for whoever does use the plots is that they plant their seeds, maintain the plants by watering and weeding and to respect the other gardeners and their plants.”
For anyone wishing to participate in gardening at the Hillside Fellowship plots, must call Hillside Fellowship and leave a voice message at (715) 536-1311.
