Fatal drowning on Lake Alice remains under investigation

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal drowning which occurred early Saturday morning, May 30, in the Town of King.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a call of a boater who was missing from a capsized canoe on Lake Alice. Dive teams from the Lincoln and Oneida County Sheriff’s Offices as well as that of the Tomahawk Fire Department were able to locate the missing boater at approximately 8:30 a.m. The victim was found to have succumbed to drowning and was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Paul C. Proulx.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, more information will be released Sunday.
