The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections is notifying the public of the release of a convicted sex offender.
Damon A. Frederick 8-3-98 is expected to be released under supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections on June 30, 2020. He was convicted in 2016 of 3rd degree sexual assault of a child after he assaulted a five year old female who was a stranger while she was swimming at Council Ground State Park. The incident took place in 2015.
This notification is not intended to increase fear, rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public. Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but was not until the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the public.
Damon Frederick will be residing in Lincoln County. He will be under supervision until 7/5/2025. He will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program while under supervision. The Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry can be located at https://doc.wi.gov
