Last week, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced the following ongoing road projects in Lincoln County:
US 51 Southbound
Location: US 8 to Lincoln County S, Wisconsin River Bridge
Schedule: May 4, 2020 to October 15, 2020
Traffic impacts: Southbound US 51 will be shifted to northbound US 51 via temporary crossovers. Northbound US 51 will operate with single, bi-directional traffic through the Memorial Day weekend up to July 2, 2020. Access will be maintained to all ramps within the project limits.
Anticipated work scheduled: Crews will begin to remove pavement in the southbound lanes.
WIS 17 and WIS 86
Location: WIS 17 over Big Hay Meadow Creek between Merrill & Bloomville; WIS 86 over Wisconsin River (Lake Mohawksin) in the city of Tomahawk
Schedule: May 15, 2020 to May 19, 2020
Traffic Impacts: Traffic on WIS 17 and WIS 86 will be reduced to a single lane with the use of flaggers during polymer bridge deck overlay work. All traffic lanes will be opened at the end of each work day.
Anticipated work scheduled: Crews will apply polymer bridge deck overlays.
WIS 86
Location: Between Price County YY and Wisconsin River
Schedule: May 18, 2020
Traffic Impacts: Traffic on WIS 86 will be reduced to a single lane with the use of flaggers during construction operations. All traffic lanes will be opened at the end of each work day.
Anticipated work scheduled: Crews will apply pavement marking.
