Iwen named PRMS January Youth Optimist of the Month
The Optimist of the Month for January, Emerson Iwen, was nominated by her teacher, Mr. Schult.
Mr. Schult comments, “No Matter the setting, Emerson always has a contagious smile on her face. She has a knack for being able to work with any of her peers and always shows respect to each of them. When talking with Emerson, it becomes quickly apparent that she is constantly in search for the best in any situation. In addition, while she is very aware of both herself and her surroundings, she constantly strives to better understand the world around her. Emerson excels at both independent and group work, ensuring that only the best product will be submitted. I look forward to witnessing the positive impact she will make on those around her in the future.”
The daughter of Pam and Douglas Iwen, Emerson is a member of the PRMS student council, volley ball team and basketball team. In the past Emerson has earned the citizenship award, student of the quarter and best female typist of the year award.
In our community, Emerson has participated in Make a Difference Day, Highway clean up, walking dogs at the humane society and helped her church with a baked goods sale.
Emerson lists her personal qualities and talents as a good volleyball player, a life long dancer and a leader in group activities.
