Additional details released related to Wednesday morning crash

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred early Wednesday morning, April 29, 2020 in the Town of Pine River.
At 1:14 a.m. a 911 call reported a vehicle had left the road and rolled over on Shady Lane Ave. When deputies arrived on the scene they found a passenger had been ejected. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Paul C. Proulx.

Occupants of the vehicle were identified as:
Passenger: Tyler S. Krenz, age 16 of Merrill- pronounced dead on the scene
Passenger: 16-year old male of Merrill, transported to Aspirus.
Driver: 16-year old Merrill male, treated and released and currently in custody.

Deputies are working with the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Lincoln County District Attorney as they investigate. At this time they are awaiting test results and report to determine if speed and/or alcohol played a factor in the incident.
Krenz is the fourth person fatally injured on Lincoln County roadways in 2020.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Pine River Fire Department and First Responders, Merrill Fire Department Ambulance, and the Wisconsin State Patrol who is reconstructing the crash.
