Merrill Police Department Calls for Service

March 31
At 11:28 a.m., a caller reported his wife, who suffers from dementia, had wandered away from his vehicle. She was located shortly thereafter at a nearby business.

At 6:48 p.m., an officer followed up with a report made to the chief of police concerning graffiti spray painted on a dumpster. The officer located three other dumpsters in the area also painted with graffiti. Contact was made with the owners of the dumpsters. The investigation ongoing.

April 2
At 1:13 a.m., an officer located fresh graffiti that was sprayed painted onto the viaduct bridge. The investigation is ongoing.

At 2:17 p.m., an officer took a report of a theft of a power washer from a residence.

April 4
At 2:34 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for going 85 mph in a 25 mph zone. The unoccupied vehicle was located and the suspect driver returned to the scene. He was cited for driving 85 mph in a 25 mph zone.

April 5
At 3:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to a noise complaint. The anonymous caller advised a group of people were outside by a bonfire and they were being loud and would start up trucks and rev the exhaust. Contact was made with the group who agreed to go inside for the evening.

At 12:41 p.m., an officer responded to a garbage dump complaint. The caller stated they have been seeing numerous vehicles dumping garbage bags into a hotel dumpster. The caller was informed to call when the incident is happening. The investigation is ongoing.

At 9:09 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic incident. Officers met with the involved male and female. The female admitted to punching the male party in the face. The female was arrested for domestic battery.
