Merrill Police Department Calls for Service

March 23
At 12:57 p.m., an officer responded to a theft complaint. The caller had a package stolen from their porch. Investigation is ongoing.

At 8:02 p.m., officers responded to a suspicious person complaint. The caller stated a male party was in the apartment complex knocking on numerous doors. Officers located the intoxicated male party. He was returned to his residence.

March 24
At 6:40 p.m., an officer investigated an incident at a drive through, where a male became upset and was yelling profanity at person’s in another vehicle that had gone around the suspect in the drive through. The male suspect was cited for Disorderly Conduct for his actions.

March 25
At 4:22 p.m., an officer responded to a fraud complaint. Contact was made with the caller who advised they had two fraudulent charges on their checking account. The investigation is ongoing.

March 26
At 3:14 a.m., an officer responded to a civil complaint. The caller wanted to pick up items from his ex-girlfriends residence who was not home. The male was told he was not allowed into the residence without the owner’s permission. The male then asked the officer for a ride to another location. During the search of his person before being allowed into the back seat of the squad car, the officer located drug paraphernalia on his person. The male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 11:07 a.m., an officer responded to a criminal damage to property complaint. The caller advised overnight someone had thrown a small propane tank at a window on her house and caused it to break. The investigation is ongoing.

March 27
At 5:46 p.m. an officer took a report of a theft from a residence where the victim’s bank card had been taken and recently used. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

March 28
At 8:40 p.m., Officers responded to a residence for a possible domestic incident. It was discovered that a male at the residence had violated his bail bond by consuming alcohol. The male is being referred to the District Attorney’s Office for bail jumping.
